Section 39 gives any Revenue Officer parer

the Colony.
Section 40 gives power to Revenue or Police Officers to search goods and baggage of persons entering the Colony under suitable European supervision and in the presence where required of the person whose luggage is being searched; refusal to allow search may be follow-
-ed by arrest.
Section 41 deals with the examination of articles other than passengers' accompanied baggage by Revenue Officers and the forcible opening of such packages if necessary.
Section 42 gives to Revenue or Police Officers power of arresting without warrant any person suspected of being in possession of opium in contravention of the Ordinance and to search such person
and his luggage under European supervision.
Section 43 gives power to any Revenue or Police Officer naving reasonable ground for believing that there is any opium illegally con- -tained in any ship to board such ship and without warrant to seize
any opium found thereon.
Section 44 prescribes the formalities for search under warrant of a Justice of the Peace and details the powers possessed by
officers executing such warrant.
Section 40 gives power to specially authorized uropean Revenue Officers to search without warrant any place where opium is believed to be illegally concealed, in cases of urgency.
Section 46 prohibits any ship from being used for smuggling opium and lays it down that if certain amounts of opium varying in pro- -portion with the size of the ship is found on a suip without any satisfactory explanation such opium will be deemed to have been suled opium.
Section 47 prohibits the possession by any person on a ship of any opium which is not entered on the ship's Manifest and gives power to the Master of any such ship to seize any opium so found which will be forfeited in due course.
